Any typical holiday maker who wants to keep souvenir photos from their trips essentially takes the time to really capture a picture perfect moment. Vacationers at our premium Anacapri Apartment Accommodation will definitely get inspired to take photos of the magnificent scenery in the vibrant metropolis of Surfers Paradise, its sparkling fine sandy beaches as well as the majestic hinterlands. Our friendly staff at our cosy family apartments in Surfers Paradise have made the effort to compile some of the most basic photography tips you can use on your next Gold Coast holiday trip:

The Golden Rule

The Rule of Thirds is one of the most popular and widely used rules in photography and also a good composition guide that aids photographers to make balanced imagery. It’s as easy as dividing the image into thirds both vertically and horizontally and then placing the object of interest of the photo where the lines cross. For example, for beach horizons, we recommend placing the horizon on the top third line if you’ve clear skies, and at the bottom line if clouds are in the sky.

Convey a story

It is more beguiling to see pictures that tell stories. Aside from just randomly taking photos at people and objects, try to look for points of interest which can give your image a place for the eyes to rest. For example, you can try telling a story by directing your lens towards waves crashing on a rock, kids building a sandcastle, or metre maidens helping out a lost holiday maker.

Excellent Timing

Timing is one of the key elements in photography. You may observe that there are certain periods in a day when you’ll find that light is softer and warmer in hue, and the shadows are longer. Most pro photographer dubbed it the “Magic hour” and it is the first and last hour of sunlight in a day. It is the best time to shoot photographs. First light is also a time when there are few people in the beach that’s why we always advise guests in our Gold Coast accommodation to take a stroll with a camera in the morning.

High noon dilemma

It is best to wait for clouds or better yet ask the kids to pose on a shaded area when taking their photographs. High noon is the time when the sun is intensely hot, blaring down on beach goers. Don’t be surprised to if you see your subjects are squinting at the sunlight or maybe be even insist on wearing sunglasses.

Have fun

Holiday makers at our Surfers Paradise apartments can get good photos by taking note of these simple tips, however, you must not forget to have fun on your family apartments in Surfers Paradise. Make your holiday more memorable by spending exciting fun family time. Try to experiment with your camera and take funny and interesting shots with you and your kids.
