The Botanic Gardens
Just a short drive from Surfers Paradise you can find the beautiful Botanic Gardens. With sprawling green lawns perfect for picnics, walking tracks around the lake, and an awesome playground including a dinosaur fossil digging station and bamboo forest to explore the Botanic Gardens is a wonderful spot to visit and burn off energy for a few hours.
You can feed the ducks, take scooters or bikes and explore the grounds, admire the beautiful gardens themselves, or enjoy a bit of friendly family competition with a game of footy. There are BBQ facilities, and an onsite cafe if you want to grab a coffee or a bite to eat after a morning of fun in the sunshine.
The Surfers Paradise beach
Is there anything that screams Gold Coast family holiday like a day at the beach? Whether it’s long afternoon strolls on the sand, playing in the waves, building sandcastles, catching waves, surfing, or just soaking up some vitamin D to the sounds of the ocean there’s plenty of fun to be had on the sandy white beaches in Surfers Paradise.

Home of the Arts (HOTA) has a fantastic sheltered swimming spot, playground, and a walking/bike track lined with interactive art installations that the kids will love exploring. There are plenty of free events such as Fridays on the lawn, workshops and kids activities, music, and yoga classes. The Bundall Farmers Market runs every Sunday morning and after you’ve had a wander through the stalls you can join in with Dancing on the Green at the outdoor stage!
